Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to St Peter's School!

We are a warm and welcoming primary school in the heart of St. Peter's parish. St Peter's School is a calm, safe and happy school that welcomes children and families from all backgrounds. Our talented and hardworking staff are committed to providing the best learning experiences for every child.

We pride ourselves on ensuring pupils and learning are at the centre of all that we do and are thrilled that there has been recognition by our recent school review of how "relationships between pupils and staff are a significant strength and form the                                                                                 bedrock of the warm, secure learning environment".

We look forward to welcoming you to our school.

About us:

St. Peter's School is a one-form entry primary school in the parish of St Peter’s, Jersey.  It was the original parish school, built in 1863 and redeveloped in 2008, when a modern extension was added to the old building.

We have around 210 children aged 3-11 in eight classes, including a 30 place nursery. We have additional learning spaces, including a hall/gym, multi-purpose/breakfast room with a kiln, library, music room and several other smaller rooms that are used to support emotional well-being and small group or individual learning needs.

We have a large playing field behind the school and have fantastic grounds with many trees. Our large playground is divided into three areas – a quiet all-weather grass area, hard surface area for ball games and large climbing apparatus section. There are also wild garden areas where children can learn outdoors. In addition to this, we have extensive and separate outdoor learning spaces for our nursery and reception classes. We aim to make the best use of our extensive grounds, the parish and wider island neighbourhood to enhance learning experiences, so are always looking at ways in which to develop this.
